Karine, a microbiologist and chemist, is the driving force behind it all. Coming from a family of chemists—her father, Jack Karagiosian, and her uncle, Andranik Karagiosian—science has always been second nature to her.
In 2003, while juggling careers, parenthood, and endless cups of coffee, Karine and Karo built a small testing lab in Burbank, CA. Partnering with family-run businesses and major household brands, they held every formula to the highest standards—because better science means better skincare, and a healthier you starts there. Their relentless dedication to quality and safety transformed that humble lab into a 40,000-square-foot industry leader, later acquired by a multinational powerhouse.
But their story didn’t end with mimosas and an early retirement. When science, chemistry, and skincare are part of your legacy, the next chapter writes itself. With their daughter, Mary—who grew up in the lab—joining the journey, they reignited their passion and launched The Natural SKN Company. Inspired by real people, perfected by science, and crafted with care, every product is made with the same standard they would expect for their own family.
